Happy almost Valentine’s Day! I wanted to quickly share the Kinetic Sand Valentine’s Day Favors I put together for E’s preschool classroom. There are only 11 kids in her room, including her, so I actually have the time and can afford to do something a little extra. Plus, I like the idea of giving the little kids more than just candy.
I saw a sand favor on Pinterest that I liked, but decided to add a Smartie and change the tag up a bit. Plus, E loves both Kinetic sand and Smarties right now, so it really was a favorite gift of hers!
Everything was really easy to find. Here is what you need:
- Kinetic Sand, in colors of your choice
- Small containers with lids
- Smarties
- Fiskars Tag Maker, not necessary but definitely makes it easier.
- Ribbon for tying
- Printable
The sand was purchased from Micheal’s crafts. I used a 40% off coupon and they had a 30% off your entire purchase coupon, so that was great. You can also get it on Amazon, or other craft stores if you dont’ have a Michael’s. The small containers that I used were from our local Dollar Tree, these are similar from Amazon, as were the Smarties. I had the tag punch already, and created the printable.
Assembly was easy, just fill each container with sand, attach the ribbon, Smarties, and tag and you’re done!
If you’d like to use the printable, you can download that here, The name was removed so you can write your child’s name there. Enjoy!

Such a wonderful valentine design! Love it! Any chance you have an idea of how many containers worth you got from each box of Kinetic Sand? Thank you!
