It seems like the blogosphere has recently exploded with posts about watermarking. Whether someone is sharing a story of their photos being stolen, or like this, sharing a solution, it’s everywhere. I have been watermarking my photos since E was born and have had a few questions about how I do it and what software I use. Most of the time I am using my Macbook photo preview, and I wanted, and maybe still will, do a tutorial on that… but since not everyone has a Mac, I thought this would be better.
I recently discovered Photoshop Express and I fell off my chair. I couldn’t believe I didn’t know about this sooner. I love Photoshop, I use it for a lot of my blog design work, photo editing and watermarking occasionally. But Photoshop is on my iMac in my office and often I blog from my laptop sitting in the living room, so I have needed different solutions… and something cheap or free at that.
So head over to Photoshop Tools
You can either sign up for a free account, or just test out the editor.
Click on “Start the Editor”
Select a photo to upload
I usually crop the photo before adding the watermark so I know exactly where to place the watermark.
Click decorate to add text.
Click on the text tool.
Type in the text box the text you would like to appear as your watermark.
Change the color of your font to white.
Change the text to your preferred font.
Move the text box to the position on the photo.
Adjust the opacity so you can see the watermark but it doesn’t disrupt the image.
Click done.
Save or upload the image where you’d like!
That’s it, you’re all done! Hope that helps 🙂
