Last weekend we had Miss E’s second birthday party. Over the past year she has fallen in love with Winnie the Pooh, so we decided it would be the perfect theme for her big day. I was a LOT behind this year- I didn’t even get invites out until the Monday before, but I had let everyone know the date so it worked out ok.
Everyone started arriving after church on Sunday afternoon and we were ready. My friend Candace, my mom and hubby all helped get everything decorated and put together, and it turned out great.
It was a much smaller party this year, with mostly family and a few good friends. Being 34 weeks pregnant and considering this is the 2nd birthday we didn’t feel the need to have 50 people over, but we still wanted to make it really special for her, and it was!
We served crockpot shredded HUNNY BBQ beef sandwiches (much easier and cheaper that hamburgers), chips, veggies, deviled eggs, and punch.
And for favors, I gave the kids a little Pooh gift set and ordered Wild Honey Comb soap favors from Etsy for the adults- they smelled wonderful and went great with the theme!
The cake was made by the same shop that made my shower cake and it was amazing! I called her up on the Monday before the shower (I told you I procrastinated on this one!), and asked her about a round cake to feed 15-20 people with a Pooh theme- I told her I was doing red/yellow colors. She said if you trust me and can make a deposit over the phone I will do something really cute and you don’t even have to come down here- PERFECT! This is what we got- I was shocked at how much detail she put into it- she did an awesome job and it was of course very tasty!!
E LOVED her balloons- she would’ve been happy if that’s all she got that day!
This was our effort to get a family photo, with the balloons!
Take ONE!

Take TWO!

Take THREE!

Take FOUR!

We got two cute ones to remember this by- we always forget to get a family photo!
While the family was finishing watching the football game, I had to wait to do gifts and cake, E played with her cousins…

Finally when the game was over we started with gifts!

She got some really great things! A new little people castle, magnetic letters, a bubble maker, a Melissa & Doug Piano, a Bolt stuffed dog and a Teepee just to name a few!
Next we cut into cake- we let E have to Pooh off the top, but she wasn’t so interested!
She did however share well with mommy 🙂

After the bubbles, E went down for her nap while we cleaned, then when she woke up hubby, friends and I actually went to watch Breaking Dawn Part 2, again 🙂
While E was down, she didn’t know it, but Daddy built her teepee. So when we got home from the movies she had the best time playing in it!

Everything turned out super cute. With her hair all down she looks older than 2. Glad she had a good time
Awww looks like she had a wonderful birthday…great job with everything!
What a cute party! And, your daughter is precious. Looks like she had a great time!
What a great party! You definitely can’t tell that it was thrown together last minute.
