Flamingos were popping up everywhere this summer, from clothing to art prints to crafts. It’s no surprise–they’re vibrant, unique, and somehow seem like they’re always having a good time! I’ve already been enjoying this trend (remember my adorable seedpod flamingo?), but here a few ways I’d love to hop on this pink bird bandwagon even more.
Wear It
While you could go all out and wear something like this dress, I’m one who likes to keep it simple and subtle. Metal flamingo-shaped jewelry and a summery pale pink romper seem just the ticket.

Decorate With It
Perhaps the easiest way to try out a new trend is to add a couple of pieces to your home. I like the idea of a simple art print (seems like an easy DIY, actually) or a fun throw pillow. If I were in a committal mood, I’d even consider flamingo wallpaper in the bathroom!

Craft It
Have some time for a flamingo-inspired craft? Try one of these below, all from blogs I’ve been loving! The Tomkat Studio gives a DIY for creating flamingo puppets that (you’ll love this!) accompany a beautiful children’s book. Talk about a fantastic gift for a little one! Oh Happy Day details how to create a darling favor bag, perhaps matching a theme for your next party! Creature Comforts–a longtime favorite of mine–has the easiest one of all: lovely cards that only require you to press print.

Finally, since Halloween costumes are already making it into stores and Pinterest boards, I’ll leave you with this gorgeous flamingo mask from Shades of Every Color, an Etsy shop with the most creative items. I’m thinking some pink tights, a fluffy skirt, and feather headband would complete the look. (Bonus: The download is unlimited for personal use, so if you throw that flamingo-themed party, your guests can each don this beauty!)

Cute
I had to laugh when I read this and my sister was wearing a flamingo shirt handed down by her mil from some past flamingo phase. I forgot to get a pic though.
Ha! It’s true: if you hold on to things long enough, they come back in style. My problem is I’m never willing to wait anything out! Wish you would have snapped a photo!
