We do not need any sugar highs in this house- we have enough energy around here as it is! So, for Easter I like to come up with creative things to put in E’s basket without candy.
I usually go through the dollar bins at Target, as well as their Easter section, then I head to the clothes, snacks and everyday goodies! I try to find things that E doesn’t get everyday, but things I know she likes. I don’t usually go straight for toys- because we definitely don’t need more toys! I have a post coming on my recycling of toys/gifts coming soon 🙂
So here are the goodies for the basket.
Sidewalk chalk- we have some, but it is pretty broken up, and I like that this comes in it’s own tub.
Cookie Cutters & Fun Dough presses- E has been very in to play-dough lately, but she has been using my cookie cutters and random kitchen utensils to play with. So when I saw both of these in the dollar bins, I knew we had to have them!
Happy Munchies- E loves these and yogurt melts, but we don’t give them to her often because she will eat the whole bag in one setting. So this will be a fun treat for her- and healthy!
Coloring book, water paints and sticker books- no explanation needed, all things she loves.
She is also very in to Mickey Mouse lately, so Target had these cute Disney Shirts that made a great little gift.
And finally a bunny sippy cup and a cute separated plate. We bought a couple of these plates for Valentine’s day and they work great. They also have a rubber bottom so they don’t slide around.
Put it all together in her basket and we have a great toddler Easter basket with plenty of goodies but no candy.
I still plan to add a few Christ centered items- I might actually make a different basket with those items- I love this idea. I have The Story of Easter and Jesus Calling Bible Storybook on the way!
What do you put in yourkids baskets?

I didn’t get any candy for the girls either. I got them stuff that they could actually use and play with
Yeah no candy in Chase’s basket either. We got sidewalk chalk too!
