Every year we get a live Christmas tree. I like the simplicity, symmetry and ease of fake trees, but there is just something fun and exciting about buying a real tree, picking it out, bring it home and decorating it- and the best part- the smell!
So this year we went and got our tree and came home and decorate it while watching Christmas movies with E. She helped a lot and had a lot of fun playing with the balls and decor.
As I was pulling out all of our ornaments I was thinking about where they came from, so I decided I wanted to write it all down- that way we know where all of those special ornaments came from and what they mean.
So, first- the decor…
Now- the ornaments…
It’s a girl- my mom bought this for us the year E was born- it so sweet and the perfect girls little ornament.
The Mickey Mouse ornament was a gift from our friends Rob and Candace- when it moves it sounds liked bells ringing.
The picture frame ornament was a gift from my sister on hubby’s and my first Christmas that we were married. The reindeer we got from an ornament exchange with our bible study a few years ago (I think- that reindeer was hard for me to remember for some reason).
The Starbucks cup was from the same ornament exchange, and the white ball below it to the right is my “Baby’s first Christmas” ornament from the year I was born.
The shell ornament we bought on our first anniversary at the beach.
The Mickey ornament we bought on our 3rd anniversary at Disneyland. The red hand-painted ornament is a gift from my parents this year from one of our favorite little stores at the beach.
The Bundle of Joy Ornament is the ornament we bought for E last year- her second Christmas.
And these are the salt dough ornaments I made with E last year- her hand and footprint.
That’s all! This year we bought E a Pooh ornament but we haven’t given it to her yet- we probably should do that soon 🙂
