How Sweet This Is

My Favorite Things Party!

in Celebrations, Party on 12/22/12

This year I decided to have a “My Favorite Things” Party and convinced my friend Candace to help and open her home to host 🙂 It was a little last minute, but it really turned out great and we all have an awesome time with the girls- and no kiddos!

The idea is to find a favorite things of yours, you can pick anything you’d like within the price limit. You can bring three different things, or three of the same- so I made little bags that included a pair of button earrings and one of my favorite chapsticks in each bag.

All of the ladies wrapped up their gifts and brought them along…

Once we all were there and had some goodies and a martini (virgin for me), we started the gift exchange. Everyone was assigned a number, then we put three of each number in a bowl (since everyone brought three gifts), then we went around the room and each girl chose three numbers out of the bowl and distributed her three gifts to those three girls. They opened so we all got to ooh and ahh at them, then we moved on to the next person.

The first gift was a Victoria’s Secret perfume spray!

Next up was a favorite hair product and lotion bar! IMG_0140-copy

There were some handmade and homemade goodies…

In the end there was hair product, lotions, bath products, wines, earrings, lipgloss and chapstick, tea, and a few other goodies! We had a great time and all left with some fun things. Next year we are thinking of either doing a theme, like favorite kitchen gadget, or just mixing it up with the dollar amount or number of gifts to bring.

Have you been to one of these parties? How did it go, what were the rules? I am curious for new ideas 🙂
