I’ve been thinking about writing this post for a while, which is a little strange considering it isn’t that important- which is probably why I haven’t written it- ha! How’s that for pregnancy brain!
So I thought it would be fun to share my make-up favorites and every day uses. I know everyone has an opinion on this, but I love seeing what others use, so I thought I would share as well.
1. Multi-Tasking Face 2. Ready Foundation 3. Matte Powder Foundation 4. NARS blush– Deep Throat and Madly. 5/6. Maybelline Lash Stiletto and Fiber Extension Marscara. 7. Rosebud Salve 8. Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion – Eden. 9. Buxom Pot Lashliner 10/11. Make Up Forever Eye Shadow in metallic taupe and matte ivory
I started using Bare Minerals foundations for all of my foundation about 5 years ago. I had previously used a Neutrogena liquid, which was fine- but I was looking for something a little more natural and not as harsh on my face- I have really sensitive skin and am prone to breakouts. I started out with the starter kit- which is a great buy if you’re considering the switch, but I honestly it was a hard switch- I was so used to seeing my face painted with foundation that it took me a while to realize I had just as much coverage but looked more natural. After I got used to how to apply it and how much layering I needed, I fell in love and have never looked back. I currently use the Matte Powder Foundation on a daily basis as well as the Multi-tasking face powder as a concealer. On days when I need a quick routine I give myself a once-over with the Ready Foundation.
I have used multiple blushes over the years, but discovered NARS recently and love it. It has great color and coverage and stays put! I love both the Deep Throat color which is a little pinker and the Madly color which has a more peachy hue.
Moving onto the eyes, when I started getting old enough to notice the veins in my lids I found a great shadow primer. Not only does it help my eyeshadow stay put and actually last all day, but it gives me a great neutral base to start with- which is why I love the Eden- it is matte ivory. As far as color goes I generally stay neutral and will occasionally use a pink or purple hue, but for my everyday I use a taupe brown for a simpler smoky eye and the ivory as a base. I do love the Makeup Forever brand because they have so many great colors!
I switched to the pot liner a couple of years ago because I got tired of sharpening a pencil and not getting a thin enough line- I also liked the option to smudge it a bit for the smokier effect. So I use the Buxom pot with a lash lining brush on the top lid and smudge just a touch of it under the bottom lid- it stays put and doesn’t smear down my face as the day goes on- BONUS!
With mascara I learned a long time ago that price didn’t matter. I’d spend $20 on mascara and get the same lash I did when I spent $7.99 at Walgreens. After much use, I’ve settled on Maybelline and switch back and forth between the Lash Stiletto and Fiber Lash. They both allow me multiple coats without getting clumpy and give me the long lash I am looking for!
And finally, as far as the lip go- I usually only wear a gloss or chapstick of some sort… I kind of have an obessesion and it would take me hours and a whole different post to explain my favorites- because I usually can’t just pick one. But I do LOVE Rosebud Salve as a lip salve and gloss in one. I also use it when my nose is dry from a cold- it’s pretty great!
There you have it! Hope you find something you can love or maybe your already have- I’d love to hear your favorites!

Fun! I love bare minerals too.
The day I discovered shadow primer I feel like my life was changed, haha. Maybe a little dramatic 😉 But really-I used to always avoid shadows because they would all gather into my creases within an hour and look ridiculous for the rest of the day. Now I can actually wear color and I love it!

I love how you set that photo up! You need to show me how to do that sometime! Yes, my sisters gave me a Nars Bronzer a few years ago, and I was an immediate convert. I ran out recently, so it’s on my Christmas list 🙂 I also discovered that the cheap mascaras are just as good as the more expensive ones, and since I like to swap mine out more than is necessary (my eyes are way too sensitive), I don’t want to pay the extra bucks for the fancy name! I never got on the Bare Minerals bandwagon, but I’m wondering if I should still give it a try! Miss you guys! We’re back now, so we need to hang out very soon!

LOVE seeing posts like this! I love seeing what other beautiful women like yourself keep in their makeup bag! I rotate between like 10 different mascaras but have never tried the 2 in your post, I need to try those!!
