Well, I decided to do this fun link up with Laura at Navigating the Mothership, “A Day in the Life” series and “Show us your life- working Mommy’s” at Kelly’s Corner. Since my days are different depending on whether I work or stay home with E that day, I decided to do both. So today is a day that I’ve worked 🙂 Warning this post is long and full of photos!
4:30am- I hear E fuss a bit, but she quickly falls back asleep.
6:00am- the alarm clock goes off, I hit snooze because it feels like 6am has come entirely too soon!
6:09am- SNOOZE- still too soon
6:18am- too soon…
6:27am- CRAP! I roll out of bed, wash my face, brush my teeth, curl my hair, get dressed and kiss the hubby goodbye.
6:44am- I am in the car on the way to Starbucks 🙂 Breakfast! I am actually happy to see that there is a line because it gives me more time to do my make-up. Yes, I do my make-up in the car while driving through Starbucks. I used to not do this but ended up late for work everyday. So I have better time management now, ha!

6:59am- I arrive at work, settle in and see two lovely things on my desk.

One of the sales reps that I work with sent me a Valentine’s card and Starbucks gift card- lovely! Another customer sent me some local taffy chews for helping him with something last week… I love these little surprises!
7:30am- I realize that we are having a potluck at work, great (sarcasm), my whole day will be spent resisting the urge to eat everything in sight.
9am- first meeting of the day
10am- second meeting of the day. Everyone is wearing pink and red and it occurs to me that it’s because it’s Valentines day- duh! I look at myself and see that I am wearing black and beige… nice… I’ll try not to read into it.
10:30am- I give it and grab a plate of 7-layer dip and chips- the alternative was 42 donut holes- this was a better choice, right?!
12 noon- I am on my way home for lunch! On my way home I notice the beautiful grey weather… I honestly love the rain and weather like this. I feel like haven’t gotten enough of it, so I am happy to have it!

noon-12:30pm- I was home for lunch, I walked in and E was still taking her morning nap so I was greeted by my mom, and our dogs who are always a little too excited.

I get to sit on the couch for a minute and catch up on some RHOBH.

The little wakes up while I am home and I just love her sleep face!

We eat lunch and before I know it I am on my way back to work.

12:30ish: On my way back to work I turn up Adele and sing loudly… I have recently fallen in love with her. I have loved her music but after a great interview with Anderson Cooper where I saw how real and raw she really was, I just fell in love with her. The Grammy’s reaffirmed this love, when she laughed and chewed gum on stage and dressed like a lady. She stood there and sang, no huge show or production, just Adele and she was perfect.

1pm-2:45pm- my workday continues… I do a lot of emailing, make a few calls, and work with some new customers wanting to print and publish their own books.
2:45pm- I made another pass by the potluck table and thankfully almost everything was put away, I did manage to grab a chocolate chip cookie… Should we review what I’ve ate today? Here it goes:
Breakfast-
grande nonfat mocha with two pumps of peppermint.
Snack-
7-layer dip with about 15 tortilla chips
Lunch-
Meatloaf sandwich with my moms leftover meatloaf
Snack-
Cookie
Wonderful, right?
3:19pm- I decided to eat a tangerine, I eat once piece and type an email, look down to grab the rest and it’s gone… I ate it… but I don’t remember eating it. I think this is why they say you shouldn’t keep food at your desk 🙂
3:30pm- I pack up and head for home. When I get home E and Nana are watching Yo Gabba Gabba, reading and eating grapes 🙂

3:59pm- after a few hugs and kisses, E goes down for her afternoon nap. I get some meat out to thaw for dinner, sit down on the couch and spend some time blogging 🙂

5:30pm- after stalking Adele a little and watching a Dr Phil episode I get off the couch and start making dinner.

6:00pm- Dinner is in the oven, the dogs are fed, hubby just texted and said he’s on his way home, and E is still napping 🙂
6:20pm: Hubby is home and has brought me this 🙂

We relax on the couch a bit waiting for dinner to be done.

6:37pm- E finally wakes up from her nap and gets some love from Daddy 🙂

6:45pm- We eat dinner. Afterwards E and I go take a bath while Daddy cleans up the dishes.

7:30pm- E and I get ready for bed and get into our PJ’s, we head into the living room and watch the SF Giants 2012 Clubhouse 🙂 After that we turn on the first episode of Top Shot Season 4.

8:45pm- E and Daddy start reading books before bedtime.

9:15pm- Bedtime for E. This is a little late but since she woke up from her nap late, we let her stay up until she shows signs of being tired… which is usually inconsolable crankiness and whining, lots of rubbing the eyes, and occasionally even laying down on the ground. We all head into her bedroom for hugs, kisses, a bible verse, and prayer, and then she’s down and out.
9:15-10pm- Watched New Girl and finished typing this blog post. Cleaned the house up a little and headed to bed!
I am currently reading a book about raising your spirited child but I think I need to read another fiction book at the same time. These “self-help” type books just don’t motivate me to read like the others.
Tomorrow will be another work day!
Thanks for following along, this is a pretty typical day in the life of me as a working mommy 🙂 After having E, not only did I have to go back to work for financial reasons, but honestly, I wanted to go back to work. I have said it before but I need days of adult interactions, days where I have a purpose outside of my home. I love my daughter, but I also enjoy having a job. I really do have the perfect balance and am so blessed to be able to keep this schedule. Friday is my stay-at-home Mommy Day, so I will post that soon!
Goodnight!
Fun! I love seeing what other people’s days are like 🙂 I’ve been trying to do these every so often for myself, so I can remember each stage of baby-hood life!
I think you need to do a tour of your house! All of the pictures where house was involved I loved haha! Your house looks awesome! Not to be creepy or anything 😉
it is so fun to see this! thanks for sharing! 🙂
I love this post! Thanks for a glimpse of your work day.
I laughed about your self-help book comment. Which parenting book are you reading? I finished two novels in January and decided I should rotate in a self-help book. Somehow I ended up reading Wild at Heart and listening to Joyce Meyer’s Battlefield of the Mind on audiobook. I am nearly done with both and will NEVER do two self-help books at once again. Painful! But I did get some great insight from both boooks. I can’t wait to pick out my next novel!
phew! your day is BUSY.
your kitchen is pretty. your baby girl is a cutie. you are gorgeous. win-win-win.
Here from the blog hop. Your blog is ridiculously cute!!
Yay…that was so much fun to read. Thanks for letting us take a peek into your world. BTW…I almost always skip dinner on potluck days because I end up eating way too much 🙂
I am a little behind and trying to catch up on my reading. This post made me so tired! You certainly are a busy gal! I work full-time too, but since my children are older, I am not sure my posts would be of any interest to anyone! Ha!
I love that you did one of each day. The picture of soapy baby hair is incredible. It says so much!
Your daughter is adorable! I love that you did both days, I work M-Th and am off Friday’s as well, it’s so great to have that “extra” day with my kids…. although, I’m jealous that you enjoy working. I pretty much loathe it and would rather stay home all the time.. but, I have to work for financial reasons! Still, it would be much easier to think like you do about work 😉
